Dominic Hoffman is a graduate of UC Santa Cruz, where he received his BA in English Literature. He received his formal training at American Conservatory Theatre (ACT), The London Academy of Music and Dramatic Arts, and NYU Film School.

The world premiere of David Mamet’s completely sold out play, Henry Johnson, has been made into a film to be released in the Spring of 2025.

HENRY JOHNSON, a film written and directed by David Mamet starring Chris Bauer, Evan Jonegkeit, Shia La Beouf and Dominic Hoffman is scheduled for a Spring release.

Swamp Lion

Dominic played the role of Fred, the head of a dangerous cartel. It premiered at The Austin Film Festival.

Dominic has appeared in popular TV series like Grey's Anatomy, The Mentalist, The Shield, Hawaii 5-0, SWAT and CSI. He is known to many for his portrayal of Julian in the series A Different World. A more complete view of his credits can be found on his IMDB.

Theatre

Dominic Hoffman is a Double Ovation Award winner for his solo show: Uncle Jacques’ Symphony and the recipient of an NAACP Best Actor Award for his solo play, Last Fare.

Dominic played Henry Brown in David Mamet's, Race at The Kirk Douglas Theatre, and most recently Jerry in his production of Henry Johnson.

Regional credits include: Michael in Lee Blessing’s play, Two Rooms, the role of the Magus in San Francisco Magic Theatre’s world premiere of Faustus, written and directed by David Mamet. Taming of the Shrew and Tamer Tamed at the Santa Cruz Shakespeare. Master Harold and the Boys at New Mexico Rep.

He had the title role in the world premiere of Noah Johnson Had a Whore at South Coast Repertory, Flyin’ West at San Diego Rep, That Serious He-Man Ball at Los Angeles Theatre Center, Gabe Gabriel in No Place to Be Somebody at San Francisco’s Victoria Theatre, Blade to the Heat at the Mark Taper Forum, and Circle X’s production of Brecht’s Edward II.
